To: World’s Poorest Schools

FOUNDFILMS presents a dynamic 60 second video re: a homegrown project that ships local school surplus to the world’s poorest schools.

The Foundation for Education recently teamed up with The Rotary Club of Grand Bend and their Global Literacy Project whereby school materials which no longer meet the Ontario Curriculum standards are shipped to other parts of the world where children have almost no learning aids.

Almost 20 containers have been shipped to date. Shipping costs, averaging $5000 per container, are paid for by The Rotary Club of Grand Bend and the generosity of donors in their community.

The Foundation’s role in the initiative is to receive and receipt all donations to the project, provide marketing and fundraising assistance to the campaign and to act as a bridge to school board leads in effort to help source out surplus equipment.

“The Grand Bend Rotary have undertaken something here that is truly outstanding and worthwhile”, states the Foundation’s Executive Director Wes MacVicar. “It’s a privilege to join their efforts in supplying essential resources to schoolchildren that not only need better tools for learning but better chances in life.”
