Recently the novel of Charlotte’s Web celebrated its’ 60th anniversary in print.

We couldn’t think of a better way to acknowledge that birthday than to bring it to life on stage at the Blyth Festival October 20-24, 27.

This beloved and insightful children’s story about a young pig (Wilbur) and his exciting and life-affirming adventure with a barn spider (Charlotte) focuses on young audiences in primary and junior grades. The production includes wonderful songs and music; action; puppets; evocative lighting, sets and costumes plus the talent of 10 extraordinary adult and student community performers.

The show is directed by Duncan McGregor, founder of McGregor & Friends Theatre Company.

‘Friends’ of the Charlotte’s Web company include Ross Barnett, Nicholas Beardsley, Lexi Bender, Steve Cook, Arlene Darnbrough, Ben Hearn, Marianne Hogan,Suzanne MacVicar, Wes MacVicar, Sherri Milburn, Dave Siebert, Izzy Siebert and Jane Smith.

We are very pleased with the response to this show. Over 4700 kids, parents and teachers are registered thus far and there is always room for more in ‘the barn’.

Showtimes are at 10:15 and 1:15 and tickets are $8 per person. Reservations can be made through the Blyth Festival’s Box Office at 1-877-862-5984

All proceeds go directly back into providing enrichment opportunities to local kids through professional life skill and arts-based workshops, classroom grants and programming.

EXTRA Download our special Study Guide – a document that even Charlotte herself would hail as ‘terrific’ and ‘radiant’. It’s chock-full with great activities, background information and discussion starters.
