“Earlier this year, the Foundation for Education Perth Huron announced the official launch of a series of videos starring students across the Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) involved in Specialist High Skills Major programs.
Spearheaded and funded by AMDSB and the Foundation For Education with support from Ministry of Education, the production boasts interviews with dozens of Perth and Huron students and teachers, with appearances by Federal Cabinet Minister, John Wilkinson and cultural icon, William Shatner.
Aldo Cianfrini, the Ontario Ministry of Education official in charge of Student Success, a program that works with communities to improve the learning experience for Grade’s 7 to 12 students, speaks highly of the achievement. “The video (Introduction to SHSM) is very effective and maybe even more effective with students,” Cianfrini states. “[We] are very impressed [and will] share the videos with SHSM coordinators from across the province.” “The complete series…Foundation for Education Vimeo Channel.”
